The Tonle Sap system comprises the river of Tonle Sap and the Lake of Tonle Sap.
THE RIVER OF TONLE SAP:
stretches from Phnom Penh to Kampong Chhnang province in the distance of 100 Kilometer.
THE LAKE OF TONLE SAP:
The lake of Tonle Sap has 150-kilometer length and 32 kilometer width,and has been classified into three parts:
-The Great Lake:Has 75 Kilometer length and 32 kilometer width
-The Small Lake : Has 35 Kilometer Length and 28 Kilometer width
-The Muddy Area: Rich in Small islands,which lasts from Chhnuk Truh to Kampong Chhnang province.
WATER FORM OF THE LAKE OF TONLE SAP:
During the rainy season ,form June to October,the lake of Tonle Sap filled by water flowing in the direction frome Phnom Penh to Kampong Chhnang.The Lake has its deepest Depth of 14 Meter and has its possible surface of 10,000 square kilometers.During the dry season,frome November to May ,the lake of Tonle Sap has its Depth from 0.8 Meter to two Meter and its surface of 3,000 square Meter which the water flows out of the lake of Tonle Sap in the direction from Kampong Chhnang province to Phnom Penh.The Phenomenon of out-in flowing occurs beacause of the lake of Mekong River and its flow,are higher than the lake of Tonle Sap.
MAIN BRANCHES OF THE LAKE OF TONLE SAP:
Are the river of Treng,Seim Reap,Chi Kreng,Stong and Sen located at the Eastern Bank,and the rivers of Serey Sophan,MoKol Borey,Sangke,Mong (Daun Try),Svay Daun Keo,Pursat,and Boribo located at the Western Bank.
MAIN BRANCHES OF THE RIVER OF TONLE SAP:
Are the rivers of Kya,Chi Nit ,Tang Kro Sang and Slab located at the eastern bank,and the river of Chrey Bak and Krieu (Uddong)located at the Western Bank.
